With a collective of Austin and Australian songwriters assembled by the House of Songs to complete the unfinished works of Albert Brumley, I’ll be doing a duet gig with my good pal and bassist, Kyle Clayton, to support Health Alliance for Austin Musicians!
Along with the incredible songwriters with whom I have been working on completing Albert Brumley’s unfinished works, I am playing this sweet afternoon show at the lovely Servant Church. We’ll present the songs we have finished writing, as we look ahead to our performance at Americana Fest.
The HouseofSongs, an international collaborative songwriter program, will be debuting the works of several songwriters, crafted from their most recent intensive in Austin, Texas, just a week before the festival began. This dazzling collaboration features artists hailing from Adelaide, South Australia and Austin, Texas coming together to interpret, collaborate, and complete unfinished Albert Brumley works that were provided by their partner, The I’ll Fly Away Foundation. Albert’s own granddaughter and leader of the foundation Betsy Brumley, and The HouseofSongs Founder Troy Campbell will be present to introduce their own initiatives. Hosted by: Jim Lauderdale. Songwriters include: Akina Adderley, Taasha Coates, Kelly Menhennett, Dan Crannitch, Dawn & Hawkes and Graham Wilkinson
